Another small garden in a new build home.

I swear the house builders are dumping more rubbish than ever in peoples gardens! Just below the (badly layed) turf in this small garden was a huge amount of rubbish, mostly broken masonry and crushed concrete and what little soil I found was of the very poorest quality, more subsoil than top soil.

It’s all sorted now though and on a modest budget, the lawn is nice and even and it will grow beautifully on it’s properly prepared base.

As well as sorting out the soil I removed a large shed, dismantled it and re-purposed it to make a tidy lean to shed to fit in the gap at the back of the garage, much more practical.

A large area of decking was built for entertaining and relaxing in the garden. The reeded finish is ideal. Coated with a quality decking oil it is easy to clean and maintain while looking stylish and provided that extra bit of grip on wet days.

The lawn is designed in a reverseĀ  ‘S’ to lead the viewers eye of into the corner giving an illusion of greater space. I added some easy to maintain plants and now it’s an attractive, practical and very usable space without breaking the bank.

So if you have recently purchased a new home in Northstowe, Alconbury Weald, Cambourne or anywhere else in the Cambridgeshire area and are looking for a landscaper or garden designer, give me a call to discuss your garden needs and the options available whatever your budget or size of your garden.
