Small gardens are very much the norm these days. They also tend to lack any privacy and can leave the owners feeling very exposed and uncomfortable about being overlooked by dozens of neighbouring windows.
It’s not often a practical solution to screen the garden with extra high fences and tall trees and shrubs as this would block too much light from the small garden and make it feel even smaller.
The solution is to have a strong design which really holds you attention and keeps your eyes firmly focused on all the great features within it so that you can forget about the surrounding building and really feel as though you are in a ‘room’.
This design features sections of decking made from the beautiful and extremely hardwood, Ipe. This contrasts beautifully with the white Arctic Granite paving and is complimented by the neutral dark grey of the granite planters.
The false pergola along the boundary adds heigh and contributes to a greater sense of privacy without encroach on the finite space within the garden.
Planting is extremely restricted, comprising mainly of Bamboo and Buxus making this garden very low maintenance indeed.
